MathAccording to Learningdisabilities.org Approximately 6% of students have an SLD disability in math. Students may struggle to understand numbers and math facts. Despite the differences in intensities and dilemmas there are few classifications of learning disabilities in math. The most common disability is Dyscalculia.

ReadingA Specific Learning Disability in reading is sometimes referred to as a language-based learning disability. Reading can be affected in many ways- fluency, decoding, comprehension, recall, writing, and spelling. Sometimes it can be affected by speech.

WritingLearning disabilities in writing often are recognized with poor handwriting, spelling and struggle with fine motor skills. They may also struggle with the spatial planning it takes to write in addition to difficulty composing writing.

SpellingStudents with learning disabilities sometimes have difficulty hearing, recognizing and writing the sounds that make up words. This leads to difficulties in spelling. Students may also spell the same word differently in the same paper.

Time PlanningA specific learning disabilities can impact a student's ability to manage their time. They may become easily distracted or have trouble concentrating.

Abstract ReasoningAbstract reasoning is the ability to apply known information to a new situation. This is often referred to as problem-solving, or logical, flexible thinking.
