1. Right to a Free and appropriate public education for their child 2. Request an evaluation if the suspect a child needs special education or related services 3. Be notified, in their native language or mode of communication, whenever the school wants to evaluate their child, change placement or refuse their request for an evaluation or change in placement. 4. Allow access, refrain from giving access, to a child's public benefits or insurance for use in providing services. 17.Be assured that the label of learning disabilities is given only after ruling out a lack of appropriate instruction. limited English proficiency, or other disabilities and after providing high-quality research-based instruction in the general education classroom. 18. Have the right to file a complaint with the school district if they believe their child's rights under IDEA or IDEIA have been compromised. 19. Be provided a mandatory "resolution session" before due process is initiated 20. Have two years in which to exercise due process rights after they know or should have known that their child's rights under IDEA have been violated.
