1. Work in Partnership with the school and share relevant information 2. Need to ask for an explanation about any aspects of the program they do not understand 3. Need to review the IEP goals and objectives to be sure they are specific and agreeable 4. should examine and think about the IEP carefully before signing it 5. Should request periodic reports on their child's progress or suggest changes if the child is not progressing 6. Need to work directly with school personell ro resolve conflicts 7. Have to keep good recordds so that important information is not lost or forgotten 8. Can, if interested, join a parent organization where they can share their knowledge, experiences and support.
