CBMs
Curriculum Based measurement is a progress monitoring assessment that is normed, reliable and valid takes minimal class time and helps with instructional decisions. This test is given individually and is timed. There are CBMs for reading as well as for math.
In reading the passage level for CBM: a student should score within 10% or 127 of the 50th percentile or 140 WCPM. If a student score significantly below this mark, the student should receive diagnostic testing. Passage level needs to be at grade level. It measures the accuracy and rate at which a student reads. |

MAZE
Is a fluency assessment that measures both correct responses and errors. It is a means to assess comprehension as is used for progress monitoring and goal setting. The assessment is three minutes long and can be done individually or with a group of students. During the assessment students read silently and select the appropriate word responses from three options.

(IRI) Idaho Reading Indicator
This form of individualized assessment is given kindergarten through third grade three times a year- fall, winter, and spring. It is a computerized assessment that tests a variety of reading skills including prefix, suffixes, ect. It is normed and created by istation. ISIP is the name of the test. Students are scored as benchmark (at or above grade level), strategic (near grade level), or intensive (below grade level). If students fall under the categories of strategic or intensive then they qualify for 40 hours of reading instruction.
