Model and Explain Unacceptable Behavior
Explain what behaviors are not appropriate by modeling. This can be done through asking questions (ie. Are we going to use the rulers to sword fight?), modeling (acting out an inappropriate behavior) or verbally explaining what behaviors are not acceptable. Emphasize that these behaviors are not acceptable. If necessary or appropriate explain the consequences of not following the expectations at this time. This provides a clear guideline of what students are to and not to do in the classroom.

Student Model and Roleplay
Choose the student who is least likely to perform the task appropriately to model to the class how to do the expected behavior. This not only gives the student additional practice and feedback on the performing the behavior, but also makes that student a leader in following the expectations allowing the student to feel additional responsibility.

Reteach
Review the expected behaviors the second day of class. This reminds students of the importance of following the expectations and reiterates that you will be enforcing this throughout the school year.
It is essential to reteach appropriate behaviors throughout the school year. Especially when students become more relaxed or are not following the expectations. At these times review appropriate behaviors and the expectations associated with them. |
Grades are available on PowerSchool through the District website. Academic grades are given based on the following guidelines:
A - 90-100% B - 80-89% C - 70-79% D - 60-69% F - below 60% |
Grades Failure: Teachers are responsible for arranging activities by which students may learn certain subject matters. Students are responsible for participating in these activities in such a way as to reach a degree of proficiency. If a student hasn’t adequately fulfilled his/her responsibility, the teacher may record an ‘F’ as that student’s grade earned in that subject.
Extra Help is available after school. Please check with your team of teachers for the day/time. |
